Fernando Serpa
Executive Director, Association of ERGs & Councils

Fernando Serpa is the Executive Director of the Association of ERGs & Councils, a practice group of diversity and inclusion consulting and training firm PRISM International, Inc.

With two decades of diversity and inclusion experience, he draws on his in-depth experience across the public and private sector and excels at building dynamic, cross cultural diversity and inclusion strategies to influence systemic change across organizations.

Fernando has led diversity efforts for such Fortune 100 companies as Agilent Technologies, Symantec, JCPenney and Johnson Controls. His responsibilities have included worldwide diversity recruitment and retention, employee network groups, international programs and diversity and inclusion training.

A graduate of George Washington University Law School, he was appointed by the White House to the U.S. Department of Justice where he directed immigration policy and worked with Congress and Federal agencies to develop and implement legislation, policy and procedures. From 1995 to 2000, Fernando served at the United States Commission on Civil Rights where he represented the Commission on civil rights issues to state and local governments, citizen-based groups and corporations.

He has presented training on diversity and inclusion around the world including Japan, Germany, France, Singapore, China, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. He has lectured and given key-note speeches at Stanford University, The Conference Board, The European Society for Cross Cultural Communication, Workforce Opportunity Network, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), and the National Urban League.

Fernando Serpa has a proven ability to build successful and effective diversity and inclusion strategies, develop relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization, promote ideas persuasively and shape opinion, win buy-in for initiatives and work through conflicts, in order to ensure operational alignment and high impact execution.
