About The Association of ERGs & Councils

The Association of ERGs & Councils is the premier resource for diversity and inclusion professionals dedicated to increasing the impact, effectiveness and recognition of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and Diversity Councils.

Since 2005, the Association has provided hundreds of ERGs and Diversity Councils with impactful tools and custom solutions to assist them in starting up, staying motivated and reaching higher levels of effectiveness and performance.

Along with its parent PRISM International, Inc., the Association co-presents the annual ERG & Council Conference™ and ERG & Council Honors Award™.

Memberships with the Association are available but not necessary in order to take advantage of its many readily available and customizable resources and tools for ERGs, BRGS and Diversity Councils.

Fernando Serpa

Executive Director

Fernando SerpaFernando Serpa serves as the Executive Director of the Association of ERGs & Councils a practice group of diversity and inclusion consulting and training firm PRISM International, Inc.

With two decades of diversity and inclusion experience, he draws on his in-depth experience across the public and private sector and excels at building dynamic, cross cultural diversity and inclusion strategies to influence systemic change across organizations.

Fernando has led diversity efforts for such Fortune 100 companies as Agilent Technologies, Symantec, JCPenney and Johnson Controls. His responsibilities have included worldwide diversity recruitment and retention, employee network groups, international programs and diversity and inclusion training.

Most recently he served as the Director of Global Diversity at Johnson Controls where he developed strategies to advance diversity and inclusion globally. He also developed and maintained strategic alliances and relationships between the business, affinity groups, and industry organizations, and actively supported workforce planning and talent attraction, development and retention.

Debbie Mitchell

Manager, Member Services & PRISM Event Center

Debbie MitchellDebbie Mitchell uses her twenty four plus years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality and consulting and training to serve in dual roles as the Manager of Membership Services for the Association of ERGs & Councils and as Manager of the PRISM Event Center.

As Manager of Membership Services, she is responsible for the care, development and growth of Association members as well as oversees the sponsorship drive of the annual ERG & Council Conference™ and ERG & Council Honors Award™.

As Manager of the PRISM Event Center, she coordinates with Marketing and Sales to plan and execute delivery of the Association's and PRISM events.

Debbie came from the parent company, PRISM International, Inc., where she acquired 4 years of diversity and inclusion, Council and ERG work experience.
