eLearning & Blended Learning

Bookmark and Share

eLearningThe rate of change in the marketplace and in technology is rapid. Organizations choosing not to help their employees keep pace are quickly discovering that competitors with a continually trained workforce quickly are passing them by. To stay in the game, companies must constantly reinvigorate the workforce with training. Organizations faced with budget constraints, however, often cut back on training due to the high costs of travel and the productivity hit involved in on-site sessions. The Association of ERGs & Diversity Councils can enable organizations to offer highly interactive and impactful training.

Web Conferencing

Web conferencing provides a blended approach to learning - the best of two worlds. You get the economic and flexible benefits of e-learning and the learning dynamics of an interactive, facilitator-led classroom. Webinars provide effective, flexible, economical, facilitated and interactive, real-time, online meetings and training with others - regardless of their location - whether it's in the comfort and convenience of their office, conference room, hotel room, airport, home or any other place where work and life is happening.

A webinar session requires only a computer with a standard web browser and a telephone. There is no other investment required for any hardware and software installation, training and maintenance. Webinar participants hear the presenter or facilitator, view presentations and documents, participate in real-time discussions, polls and surveys, share ideas, experiences, points of views - in essence, everyone learns.

Web sessions normally last one to two hours. The AEC offers many of its products and services via web conferencing.

Blended Learning

Blended Learning provides a combination of elearning and small group sessions built around specific topics that provide a flexible and cost-effective learning experience.

Think of blended learning as a two step process: the individual elearning component followed by the group/class room experience.

The elearning portion provides individuals with the flexibility to experience the elearning at the time of their choosing and a pace that suits them best. The elearning portion provides participants with fundamentals and knowledge to prepare them for the discussions to follow in the small group sessions.

Ideally, once all participants have completed the elearning, they participate in small group or classroom setting where a facilitator or a leader's guide offers instruction and walks then through a process in which they share information, question their understanding and expand upon the learning.

Participants gain new insights and skills through highly interactive e-learning blended with rich dialogue - all relevant to the jobs employees perform every day.
